Transaction Code Management
Create and edit transaction codes in Console; configure Revenue, manual creation, AR Only, and Allow Adjustment attributes.
Entry: Console → Finance → Transaction Code.
The Digital team provides a default set of transaction codes at property launch; adjust or add as needed.
Transaction codes define the nature of each transaction — payment vs. charge — and are the smallest unit for finance statistics. They label each transaction so front desk and finance staff can quickly identify purpose.
The list shows code, description, group, and attribute toggles.
Core attributes:
| Attribute | Description | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction Code | Unique numeric identifier | System identifier |
| Description | Readable name, multilingual | Easier selection across roles |
| Group / Sub-group | Classification for generation rules | Affects auto-generation logic |
| Revenue | Whether included in revenue statistics | Affects reports and dashboards |
| Manual Transaction Creation | Whether front desk can create manually | Affects front desk operations |
| Allow Adjustment | Whether transactions can be adjusted or deleted | Affects posting flexibility |
| AR Only | Limited to AR account settlement | Restricts usage by scenario |

Steps
Create transaction code
Click Create Transaction Code. The dialog shows basic info and attribute toggles. Primary button is Confirm.
Fill in basic information:
- Transaction Code: Numbers only, unique identifier.
- Description: Readable name, multilingual.
- Group / Sub-group: Select classification.
Group determines whether the code is payment or charge and its generation rules. See Transaction auto generation rules.
Set attributes:
- Revenue: Enable for room charge, service fee, etc.
- Manual Transaction Creation: When enabled, front desk can use this code manually.
- AR Only: When enabled, code is only available in AR settlement.
- Enter Total Price: When enabled, enter tax-included total; when disabled, enter pre-tax price.
Click Confirm.
Edit transaction code
Click more options (three dots) on the code and select Edit.
All fields are editable. The edit dialog adds Allow Adjustment.
Allow Adjustment notes:
- When enabled, transactions from this code can be deleted or adjusted manually.
- When enabled, configure a corresponding adjustment code.
Configure room charge transaction codes
Room charge codes also need property settings:
Go to Finance → Property Settings → Auto Room Charge Posting.
Set the corresponding codes:
- Hotel reservation transaction code
- Long-stay reservation transaction code
- Sublet transaction code
Only codes marked Revenue are available.
After configuration, night audit automatically posts room charges using these codes.
Result
New or edited codes appear in the list. Room charge codes bound in property settings are used at night audit.
