Paid upgrade settings

Configure inventory remaining factor, time factor, and incentive commission for paid upgrade price difference.

Entry: Console → CRSSettingsPaid Upgrade.

Prerequisites

Paid upgrade settings control pricing and incentive rules for hotel reservation paid upgrades so properties can tune difference calculation and commission.

Daily difference = (Target room type rack rate − Original room type rack rate) × Inventory remaining factor × Time factor.

Changing the inventory remaining factor or time factor changes the default difference when staff run paid upgrade on a reservation.

Steps

Configure inventory remaining factor

Usually more remaining inventory means a larger discount (smaller factor): scarce target inventory → smaller discount; abundant inventory → larger discount to encourage upgrades.

Rules:

  • Six fixed bands by remaining share of the target room type.
  • Factor is a required integer from 40 through 100.

Defaults:

  • 0 < X < 10%: 95%
  • 10% ≤ X < 20%: 90%
  • 20% ≤ X < 30%: 85%
  • 30% ≤ X < 40%: 80%
  • 40% ≤ X < 50%: 70%
  • X ≥ 50%: 65%

Enter the value in the factor box for each band.

Configure time factor

Usually later upgrades get a larger discount (smaller factor): earlier in the day → smaller discount; late evening → larger discount to encourage upgrades.

Rules:

  • Seven fixed bands by upgrade time.
  • Factor is a required integer from 20 through 100.

Defaults:

  • Before 11:00 on arrival day (including earlier dates): 100%
  • 11:00–15:00: 90%
  • 15:00–18:00: 80%
  • 18:00–20:00: 70%
  • 20:00–22:00: 55%
  • 22:00–same-day night audit: 40%
  • Later stay nights (remaining dates after first night): 100%

Enter the value in the factor box for each band.

Configure incentive policy

Used for paid upgrade commission and the paid upgrade incentive report.

SettingRuleInputDefault
Commission typeFixed as Upgrade fee (tax included)Only option; selected by default
Minimum thresholdMonthly personal upgrade fees must reach this amount before commissionInteger ≥ 0, up to 5 digits0
Commission rateRate applied for eligible staffInteger 1–10010%

Commission = total upgrade fees × rate only when monthly fees meet the minimum; otherwise no commission.

Monthly incentive uses the configuration as of the last moment of that month.

Factor and commission changes affect upgrade pricing and staff incentives. Confirm values before you leave the page.

Result

  • Factors feed the default paid upgrade difference on hotel reservations.
  • Incentive settings drive commission and the incentive report.
